The challenge

What Wasn’t Working

During the pandemic, demand for print fell and the business moved to cloud services. As the office reopened, it needed printing that fitted the new way of working.

Reducing its carbon footprint was a key goal.

  • Print demand fell as the business moved to cloud
  • More effective printing for changing demands
  • Key goal: reduce the carbon footprint
  • Future-proof printing and scanning with cloud integration

The solution

What DNC Did

As an Epson Solutions Plus partner, DNC talked the team through the options between laser and heat-free Epson technology.

The Epson devices use a fraction of a laser printer’s electricity, and DNC monitors them remotely so most issues are fixed without an engineer visit.

The results

The Difference For Angela Shanley Associates

The devices have worked faultlessly, with no call-outs in the last 12 months. They’re easy to use, compact, and match laser quality for the team’s office printing and scanning.

Support isn’t just 9 to 5: the team can speak to a person any time of day, whether they’re in London or Scotland.

  • Carbon footprint over 50% lower than laser
  • Lower electricity costs
  • Over 327kW carbon reduction per machine vs laser
  • 92kg reduction in CO2
  • No call-outs in the last 12 months
  • Laser-quality printing and scanning
  • Smaller, space-saving devices
  • Fast service from a dedicated account manager

The pandemic was the catalyst that resulted in a complete re-think to our approach to managing our printed material in a remote working environment. Scanning solutions became more important and practical than a paper-based approach. Our long-term partnership with DNC Systems and their detailed understanding of our business needs made this process simple. Our physical prints are much reduced, equipment more efficient, and now more in line with our longer-term carbon footprint reduction plans which also involve an existing corporate partnership with rewilding charity ‘Trees for Life’. The charity reintroduces native Scots pines in the Scottish Highlands that have experienced deforestation.
